Our Curriculum Frameworks
Our school follows a structured American curriculum framework aligned with internationally recognized educational standards. To ensure a comprehensive education, these Western benchmarks are combined with the local context, culture, and statutory requirements of the United Arab Emirates.
- U.S. Common Core State Standards (CCSS): Governs our core instructional benchmarks across English Language Arts, Mathematics, and elective humanities.

Our 7-Part Teaching Methodology

Gradual Release Model (I Do – We Do – You Do): Instruction moves systematically from explicit teacher modeling to guided small-group practice, and finally to independent application to guarantee skill mastery.

At RAKAA, student progress is monitored through a comprehensive, data-driven assessment system. We integrate continuous classroom metrics with global testing frameworks to ensure our outcomes align with top-tier international standards.
The Assessment Cycle
- Diagnostic Assessments: Administered three times per academic year to isolate baseline starting points, identify student strengths, catch learning gaps early, and set individual targets.
- Formative Assessments: Continuous, daily monitoring built directly into lessons via quizzes, structured exit tickets, oral questioning, skill rubrics, and real-time digital tracking spreadsheets.
- Summative Assessments: End-of-cycle unit tests, comprehensive exams, and capstone projects designed to measure the mastery of curriculum standards. Summative metrics typically constitute 50% of a student’s formal grade weight.
External International Benchmarks
To evaluate institutional performance against global metrics, RAKAA students participate in recognized external benchmarking examinations:
- MAP: Measures of Academic Progress (Tracks growth across core subjects over time)
- CAT4: Cognitive Abilities Test (Isolates innate learning potential and cognitive styles)
- ABT / ISBT / SSBT/ AP/ SAT: Specialized external attainment tests for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and local curriculum benchmarks.
